Aluminum Bridge Kits

MakeABridge® aluminum bridge kits are pre-engineered, clear anodized, weld-free aluminum bridges that ship in crates and assemble on-site with hand tools, no welding equipment required. Backed by 7 patents, the MakeABridge® system is purpose-built for remote sites, golf courses, private estates, ski resorts, trail networks and emergency bridge replacements where conventional bridge construction would be slow, costly or impossible. Each aluminum bridge kit ships as a complete, code-compliant aluminum bridge with all structural components, hardware, decking, railings and engineering documentation included, dramatically reducing project timelines compared to custom-fabricated bridges. MakeABridge® kits are designed and built in Canada from low-carbon Quebec aluminum, drawing on hydroelectric-powered smelting that cuts the carbon footprint of finished structures by up to 80% versus the global average. Every kit ships under ISO 9001:2015 quality controls, with structural calculations stamped by an in-house Professional Engineer for the project’s intended jurisdiction.

Aluminum Bridge Decking

GuarDeck® aluminum bridge decking is a modular, lightweight aluminum bridge deck system engineered to replace aging steel, timber or concrete bridge decks without rebuilding the underlying structure. Lightweight aluminum extrusions reduce dead-load on existing structural members, often enabling substantial capacity upgrades or load-rating improvements at a fraction of full-replacement cost. GuarDeck® is compatible with steel and concrete bridges, well-suited for maintenance vehicle bridge rehabilitation, structural deck replacement, dead-load reduction projects and capacity upgrades, with installation typically measured in days rather than the weeks or months required for conventional bridge deck replacement. For projects that require widening rather than full deck replacement, our Jasper prefabricated cantilevered system extends existing bridge decks to safely accommodate pedestrian or cyclist traffic without rebuilding the roadway. Every GuarDeck® and Jasper project is fully engineered in-house by our Professional Engineers, with input from a Naval Architect on marine-adjacent projects, and supported with detailed shop drawings, structural analysis, AASHTO-compliant load calculations and integrated bridge engineering, not just deck supply.

Aluminum Modular Bridges

Aluminum modular bridges are tactical, emergency and military aluminum bridges engineered for rapid deployment in defense, civil defense and disaster response applications. Our LVTB (Light Vehicle Tactical Bridge) modular bridge family includes the LVTB-2418 system, developed in collaboration with NATO NIAG advisory bodies, supporting light vehicle loads, transport into 20 Foot Shipping Container and compatibility with helicopter logistics where forward deployment is required. Modular sections assemble on-site without specialized equipment, making aluminum modular bridges suitable for remote tactical positions, infrastructure restoration after natural disasters, and temporary replacement of damaged civilian bridges during reconstruction. Each LVTB-2418 system is engineered to military and civil defense specifications, fully tested by MAADI Group’s in-house engineering team, and built in Canada under ISO 9001:2015 quality controls.

Aluminum Lightweight Bridges

Aluminum lightweight bridges are smaller, lighter tactical aluminum bridges designed for pedestrian, snowmobiles, ATV’s and personnel crossing in tactical, emergency and remote-site applications. The LVTB-1811 system breaks down into manportable components for forward deployment without heavy lift equipment, with helicopter airlift available for the larger structural sections. Typical applications include disaster response, remote forward operating bases, emergency creek and river crossings, civilian infrastructure recovery operations, and rapid pedestrian access in areas where conventional bridge construction is impossible or prohibitively slow. Like all MAADI Group aluminum bridge systems, the LVTB-1811 is designed and built in Canada under in-house engineering supervision, with structural calculations stamped by an in-house Professional Engineer and weld procedures certified to CWB per CSA W47.2 division 1 standards.

Our Method

How We Engineer Custom Aluminum Bridges

Every aluminum bridge, bridge kit and tactical system follows a structured, engineering-driven design process built to optimize performance, safety and long-term durability. Our vertically integrated approach keeps engineering, design, fabrication and installation under one roof, eliminating the cost overruns, communication gaps and quality issues that come with multi-vendor bridge project delivery. As a dedicated aluminum bridge specialist with 7 patents and three Extrusion Technology Foundation Design Competition Awards, MAADI Group has refined this engineering process across hundreds of aluminum bridge projects since 2005.

Knowledge

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How long does an aluminum bridge last?

A properly engineered aluminum bridge typically delivers 75 to 100 years of service life with minimal maintenance, much longer than steel and concrete alternatives. Marine-grade aluminum alloys form a natural protective oxide layer that resists corrosion, salt exposure and de-icing chemicals without protective coatings. Lifecycle maintenance is dramatically lower than steel (no repainting), wood (no rotting) or concrete (no spalling), making aluminum the long-term cost leader for pedestrian bridges, maintenance vehicle bridge decking and tactical infrastructure.

  • Are aluminum bridges code-compliant for AASHTO and CSA S6?

Yes. MAADI Group designs aluminum bridges to meet AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, AASHTO LRFD Guide Specifications for the Design of Pedestrian Bridges, and CSA S6 Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code, as applicable. Every design bears the seal of an in-house Professional Engineer (P.Eng./PE) qualified in the relevant jurisdiction. We also work with European EN, Middle East SBC and other regional bridge codes for international projects, with site-specific code reviews built into our standard engineering process.

  • Can MAADI Group ship aluminum bridges worldwide?

Yes. Our aluminum bridges are custom and modular, prefabricated and engineered for efficient global transport and on-site assembly. Active markets include North America, the Caribbean, Latin America, the Middle East and Asia, with growth focus on Florida, the Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Puerto Rico, Dubai, the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Oman. Whether the project is a remote trail bridge, an urban stadium connection, a bridge widening retrofit or an emergency tactical deployment, we engineer for the site and deliver to the site, with experience coordinating logistics, customs and on-site assembly across more than 30 countries.

  • What’s the difference between an aluminum bridge manufacturer and a bridge supplier?

A bridge supplier typically resells standardized off-the-shelf systems with limited engineering involvement. An aluminum bridge manufacturer designs, engineers, and fabricates custom bridge systems tailored to site-specific conditions, incorporating proprietary expertise, internal welding procedures (WPS), structural design loads, and full code compliance. MAADI Group operates as an engineering and manufacturing partner, with in-house Professional Engineers, Naval Architects, CWB-certified welders and IWE-credentialed welding engineers backing every project. We have been designing aluminum bridge infrastructure since 2005, hold 7 patents (6 for the MakeABridge® weld-free bridge kit system), work under ISO 9001:2015 quality controls, and contribute to international advisory bodies including INALCO, NATO NIAG and the Aluminum clusters. MAADI Group has won the Extrusion Technology Foundation Design Competition Award three times for structural aluminum innovation. Roughly 65% of our clients are global engineering firms, who choose us when their aluminum bridges face heavy live loads, AASHTO compliance requirements, or 75-year service life expectations.
