Our Aluminum Structures

Custom marinas, boat docks, pedestrian bridges, bridge decking, work platforms and other aluminum structures. Designed and built in Canada by our engineers.

Tactical and Emergency Bridges

Our tactical and emergency bridges give first responders and military units portable, rapidly deployable bridge equipment that installs with standard tools. Engineered in aluminum around our patented weld-free MakeABridge® system, each bridge is lighter than steel bridging equipment and assembles in hours, not days.

About Our Tactical and Emergency Bridges

Bridge Equipment Built for First Responders

When flooding, washouts or earthquakes cut off access, every minute counts. Our modular aluminum rescue bridge deploys without heavy machinery, restoring emergency access across damaged infrastructure. A 6-module LVTB-2418 assembles in about 4 hours with basic tools.

Tactical Bridging Equipment for Military Operations

Designed for NATO side-by-side UTVs, our light vehicle tactical bridges carry vehicular loads of up to 5,000 lb across gaps and uneven terrain. Canadian Armed Forces units have assembled and launched them at CFB Petawawa and CFB Valcartier.

Portable Bridges, Deployable Anywhere

Each bridge in a box ships in a standard container and travels by truck, boat or helicopter to the most remote locations. Components arrive arranged in assembly order, with step-by-step instructions from site preparation to bridge launching.

Aluminum Bridging That Outperforms Steel

High-strength aluminum alloys make our emergency bridges lighter and easier to install than steel products, corrosion-resistant and stable in extreme cold. Over the structure's service life, aluminum wins on total cost of ownership, with little to no maintenance for decades.

A tactical bridge only has value if it is on site, assembled and carrying loads when the situation demands it.

Frequently Asked Questions About Tactical and Emergency Bridge Equipment

What bridge equipment does MAADI Group offer for first responders and military units?

Two rapidly deployable systems cover most gap-crossing needs: the LVTB-2418 modular bridge, an adjustable-length bridge of up to 6 sections for emergency response on uneven terrain, and the LVTB-1811 lightweight bridge, a fixed-length span for moving personnel, supplies and light vehicles. Both use our patented weld-free MakeABridge® system.

How fast can an emergency tactical bridge be deployed?

A 6-module LVTB-2418 can typically be assembled and deployed in approximately 2.5 to 3 hours by a 10-person crew using basic hand tools, with larger crews improving handling and launch efficiency. A typical LVTB-1811 can be assembled and emplaced in about 90 minutes by a trained 10-person crew. Both lightweight aluminum tactical bridges use a horizontal launching system that does not require cranes or other heavy lifting equipment.

What loads can a light vehicle tactical bridge carry?

The LVTB-2418 light vehicle tactical bridge is designed to carry NATO-type side-by-side UTVs, with a vehicular load capacity of 5,000 lb (2,268 kg) distributed over three axles. The lighter LVTB-1811 supports vehicles up to 2,510 lb (1,140 kg) and is available in bridge lengths from 20 to 60 ft (6 to 18 m). MAADI engineers can customize each aluminum tactical or emergency bridge for the required span, width, vehicle type, axle configuration, and load capacity.

How is light vehicle tactical bridge equipment transported to the site?

The complete LVTB light vehicle tactical bridge system ships in a standard container for transport by truck, ship, or helicopter. Bridge components and deployment equipment are securely stored and organized for rapid access upon arrival. In the field, an expandable custom trailer towed by a utility task vehicle (UTV) can transport bridge components and assembled sections directly to the deployment site. Typical delivery lead times are 8 to 12 weeks within North America and 12 to 16 weeks worldwide.

Why choose aluminum over steel for tactical bridging equipment?

Aluminum bridges are lighter and easier to install than comparable steel bridging, which is what allows deployment with standard tools and no heavy equipment. High-strength alloys resist corrosion without coatings and do not crack at low temperatures, so the bridge performs in extreme cold with virtually no maintenance. Why aluminum covers the material advantages in depth.

Who engineers and tests these portable bridges?

Every bridge is designed by the in-house Professional Engineers of our aluminum engineering firm and manufactured at our plant in Canada, with engineering, fabrication and technical support under one roof. The work is backed by 7 patents (6 protecting the MakeABridge® system), destructive testing of the system, and a 1st place in the Architectural/Structural category at the 2022 Aluminum Extrusion Design Competition.
