December 2, 2016 — Boucherville, Quebec, Canada — North America’s leading international association for the aluminum extrusion industry, the Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC), featured the MAADI Group’s Rapid Deployment Military Bridge on the home page of its website.

Within 80 minutes or so, a dozen soldiers can assemble this modular bridge, which is delivered on-site in parts made of aluminum extrusions. Ingenious design is only part of the story behind the ease of assembly. The relative light weight of aluminum, which is one-third the weight of steel, does not require heavy-duty equipment to be manipulated.

Moreover, aluminum’s high strength-to-weight ratio, the ease with which specific functional features can be customized, and its relatively low shipping cost make the aluminum bridge perfectly suited for the military’s needs in mobility and deployment.

“The AEC represents our industry,” said Alexandre de la Chevrotière, CEO of MAADI Group, “So having our work showcased to our peers makes all of us on the MAADI team feel proud and honored.”

MakeABridge® components are made of structural aluminum alloy for maximum durability. Easy to handle/assemble/launch it can be deployed in as little as 1 hour 20 minutes, using local crews (10-12) and on-hand equipment – saving time and money in the process.

The AEC works with manufacturers, engineers, architects, and the academic community to help inform them on the industry’s latest developments and advance the interests of aluminum extrusion.
