The 6,000 square-foot facility is located in the heart of Québec’s aluminum corridor, in close proximity to MAADI Group’s suppliers and partners. The MakeABridge product will be fabricated using new, custom-made automated production equipment. MAADI engineers and production crew will custom design, fabricate and manufacture each MakeABridge and prepare bridge components for quick-shipment in bundled sections that are cost-effectively transported to job sites within the Continental U.S. and Canada on a standard-size trailer within very few working days. Overseas shipments via ocean containers may be arranged via customized transport scheduled for earliest arrival.
The new production capability enhances the quick-bridge concept for which MakeABridge is known. MakeABridge modular units may be assembled on site by a few workers, without specialized tools or training. MAADI staff offer technical support from design through installation for each bridge project.
“We are very pleased about the addition of manufacturing and production capabilities and our move to our new larger facilities in Boucherville,” said Alexandre de la Chevrotière, P.Eng., President and CEO of MAADI Group. ”It’s a great milestone to add MakeABridge manufacturing to our engineering services, and the ideal way to celebrate our 10th anniversary. As an experienced structural engineering firm, we now offer full manufacturing capabilities for our award-winning MakeABridge. We offer complete engineering design and build of many custom pedestrian bridge designs, specializing in structures made with high-strength aluminum alloy. We expect to see increasing demand in 2015 for bridge infrastructure replacement and renovations, as well as for new construction projects in many commercial, industrial and recreational areas. We are pleased to be manufacturing our premier product in Québec.”
MAADI’s new MakeABridge production facility houses 6,000 square feet of industrial manufacturing space, and 1,700 square feet of offices. MAADI Engineering personnel will supervise the production of MakeABridge extruded aluminum truss framework components and cast aluminum tripod node joints. The new MAADI Design/Build production facility will fabricate the aluminum components with an automated line to process the MAB ready for assembly. The production facility houses equipment and a new quality testing lab. All structures’ weldments will be verified as meeting strict welding procedure specifications. MAADI’s new production facility will undergo consistent standards review by Certified International Welding Engineers for the fusion welding of aluminum. Quality control will be supervised on the production floor by on-site MAADI Group Professional Engineers.
