New Facility Supports Modular and Welded Aluminum Pedestrian Bridges
January 30, 2015 — Boucherville, Québec — MAADI Group, the structural/civil engineering Design and Build firm specializing in aluminum pedestrian bridge and maritime structures, is opening manufacturing operations in Boucherville, Québec, Canada. The new facility will house manufacturing and production of the company’s weld-free modular aluminum pedestrian bridge product, MakeABridge®, as well as custom welded aluminum pedestrian bridges, alongside the MAADI Group engineering and design offices.
State-of-the-Art Manufacturing in Québec’s Aluminum Corridor
The 6,000 square-foot facility is located in the heart of Québec’s aluminum corridor, in close proximity to MAADI Group’s suppliers and partners. Both MakeABridge and custom welded bridges will be fabricated using new, custom-made automated production equipment.
MAADI engineers and production crew will design, fabricate and manufacture each bridge to project specifications and prepare components for quick shipment in bundled sections that can be cost-effectively transported to job sites within the Continental U.S. and Canada on a standard-size trailer within very few working days. Overseas shipments via ocean containers may also be arranged via customized transport schedules for earliest arrival.
Quick-Bridge Concept Meets Custom Welded Solutions
The expanded production capability enhances the quick-bridge concept for which MakeABridge is known, while also allowing MAADI to offer custom welded aluminum solutions for projects requiring unique configurations or higher load capacities. Modular MakeABridge units may still be assembled on site by a few workers, without specialized tools or training. MAADI staff provide technical support from design through installation for each bridge project.
