We design, fabricate and install custom aluminum marina systems in-house, engineered by Professional Engineers and Naval Architects to perform for decades on Miami's waterfronts.

Engineered for Miami

Marina Engineering for Miami's Demanding Waterfronts

Miami's marinas face hurricane-force winds, year-round saltwater exposure and constant high-value vessel traffic. We engineer aluminum marina systems built to perform through all of it, from the basin layout down to the last mooring connection, with structures that hold their integrity and appearance for decades.

Our Services

Our Marina Engineering Services in Miami

Marina engineering is structural design, code compliance and system integration, engineered to keep a waterfront operational through storms, heavy use and decades of saltwater exposure. We handle all of it in-house: engineering, fabrication and installation supervision under one roof, built on custom aluminum marina systems refined across hundreds of waterfronts since 2005.

Every Miami marina is engineered around its own basin, vessels and conditions.

01 Aluminum Floating Docks & Marina Systems
Our aluminum floating docks are engineered using marine-grade aluminum extrusions and fully certified weldments manufactured in accordance with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) developed by our in-house Welding Engineer to ensure superior structural integrity and long-term durability. Each marina is custom-designed around the specific basin geometry, vessel mix, environmental conditions, and mooring strategy of the project. Marine-grade aluminum offers exceptional corrosion resistance and a high strength-to-weight ratio, resulting in reduced lifecycle maintenance costs and a clean, premium appearance that endures for decades. Every Miami marina system can be configured to accommodate everything from small recreational boats to luxury superyachts and mega yachts.
02 Gangways, Wave Attenuators & Ferry Landings
A marina is a system, not a set of docks. We engineer marine aluminum gangways with ADA-compliant access and certified load capacity, floating wave attenuators that dissipate wave energy and shield vessels from open-water exposure, and aluminum ferry landings built for continuous passenger transit and vessel impact. Every component meets the same structural standard and integrates into one coordinated marina.
03 Marina Design, Engineering & Code Compliance
Every Miami marina is engineered in-house by our multidisciplinary team, bringing engineering, design, and fabrication expertise together under one roof. Our Professional Engineers and Naval Architects evaluate site-specific conditions, including vessel loads, wind and wave forces, buoyancy requirements, mooring loads, and applicable design standards to develop optimized, project-specific solutions.

Unlike suppliers of standardized dock systems, we engineer each marina around its unique operational and environmental requirements. Structural calculations and design documentation are prepared and sealed by our in-house Professional Engineers and, when required, reviewed and stamped by licensed engineering partners within the project's jurisdiction.

Why MAADI

Why Miami Marinas Are Engineered by MAADI Group

We engineer the structure itself, which is what gives a Miami marina a service life measured in decades. Developers, resorts and port authorities choose us for what we bring to every project.

  • In-house engineering credentials: Professional Engineers (P.Eng./PE), Naval Architects, and IWE-credentialed welding engineers on every Miami marina project
  • Marine-grade aluminum expertise: corrosion-resistant, lightweight structures with a 30 to 50 year service life and minimal maintenance
  • Hurricane and storm resilience: marina configurations engineered for high winds, wave action and storm surge in demanding environments
  • Vertically integrated delivery: engineering, fabrication and installation supervision under one roof, on one timeline
  • A proven record: ISO 9001:2015 quality controls, 7 patents (6 protecting the MakeABridge® system), and roughly 65% of clients being global engineering firms

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Marina Engineering in Miami

What does a marina engineering firm do?
A marina engineering firm designs and engineers the critical infrastructure that allows a marina to operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. This includes floating dock systems, gangways, wave attenuators, mooring systems, pile guides, utility infrastructure, and other waterfront structures.

At MAADI Group, our in-house Professional Engineers and Naval Architects analyze site-specific conditions such as vessel loads, wind and wave forces, water level fluctuations, currents, geotechnical constraints, and applicable design codes. Unlike traditional marina contractors or dock suppliers, we are an aluminum engineering and manufacturing firm. We engineer the structure from the waterline down.
How much does it cost to build a marina in Miami?
The cost of building a marina in Miami depends on several factors, including marina size, vessel mix, water depth, environmental exposure, permitting requirements, dock widths, utility requirements, and the level of engineering required.

When evaluating marina costs, it is important to consider both Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). TCO accounts for maintenance, repairs, component replacement, downtime, corrosion protection and future rehabilitation over the life of the marina. Marine-grade aluminum offers a service life often exceeding 30 to 50 years. The most reliable way to establish an accurate budget is through a site-specific engineering and feasibility assessment.
Why choose aluminum for marina construction in Miami?
Marine-grade aluminum naturally forms a protective oxide layer that resists corrosion in saltwater without paint or coatings. Unlike timber it does not rot, warp or splinter; unlike concrete it does not spall or carry heavy structural weight. It can be extruded into highly engineered profiles with integrated T-slot attachment systems, anti-slip surfaces, tongue-and-groove decking and pile guide interfaces.

Marine-grade aluminum floating dock systems are typically 30% to 50% lighter than comparable steel and 70% to 85% lighter than concrete, reducing transport, installation, anchoring and lifecycle costs. Properly engineered, they deliver a service life exceeding 30 to 50 years with minimal maintenance, making aluminum the long-term cost leader on Total Cost of Ownership.
Are your marinas engineered for hurricanes and saltwater?
Yes. Our marina systems are engineered for the combined effects of hurricane-force winds, storm surge, waves, currents, vessel loads, and long-term saltwater exposure. Rather than designing solely for peak wind speed, we evaluate the complete loading environment, including wind-induced vessel forces, mooring loads, wave action and dynamic amplification.

Our Professional Engineers and Naval Architects perform site-specific analyses in accordance with applicable design standards and local code requirements. Every marina is engineered based on its exposure conditions, vessel mix, basin configuration and operational requirements.
Do you provide marina engineering and construction worldwide?
Yes. Our marina systems are modular, prefabricated and engineered for global transport and on-site assembly, with active project experience across more than 30 countries. From a remote resort marina to a major commercial waterfront, we engineer to the site and deliver to the site, with custom solutions built for local conditions.
