Project Specifications
With the technological advances of the past decades, the Canadian Army wanted to modernize its tactical bridges to help soldiers get to the mission safer and faster. Specifically, it wanted to retire the medium girder bridges purchased in the 1980s, which required about 30 to 40 people to each carry 100 pounds for many hours. The lightweight LVTB-1811 typically assembles in less than 90 minutes by 8 soldiers and requires no heavy machinery to install.
