Custom aluminum bridge for snowmobiles in Canada

Project Specifications

A snowmobile club in Quebec wanted to replace a multi-use bridge that had been destroyed by floating trees. We built a welded aluminum arched pony truss bridge with side guardrails and customized it with Ipe hardwood decking, which naturally resists decay and weathering and allows skiers and snowmobiles to safely cross the bridge without slipping or skidding. The pre-assembled bridge was lifted into place with a crane and installed in just 4 hours, connecting more than 115 miles (185 km) of trails used for snowmobiling, hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing.
